Microneedling at Facecard MedSpa

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to improve texture, tone, and firmness. By creating controlled micro-injuries, microneedling encourages collagen and elastin production, leading to healthier, more radiant skin.

At Facecard MedSpa, microneedling is used as a foundational skin treatment and is often paired with other therapies to enhance long-term results.

ABOUT THE TREATMENT

What is Microneedling?

About Microneedling Treatments

Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin, triggering the body’s natural repair response. This process improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of fine lines, minimizes pores, and enhances overall skin tone.

Unlike RF Microneedling, traditional microneedling focuses on surface-level rejuvenation and gradual skin refinement.

Healthy Skin From Within

By encouraging the skin to repair itself, microneedling strengthens the skin barrier and improves overall skin health—not just appearance.

Customized Treatment Depth

Treatment depth and technique are tailored to your skin type and concerns to ensure safe, effective results with minimal downtime.

How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling treatment uses tiny, sterile needles to make small punctures in the top layer of your skin. These micro-injuries trigger your body’s natural healing process. As your skin repairs itself, it starts making more collagen and elastin – two proteins that keep skin smooth and firm. This new collagen helps with fine lines, rough texture, scars, and makes your skin more even. It also breaks down old, damaged tissue and helps fresh, healthy skin to grow in its place. With time, your skin becomes stronger.

Who Is a Candidate for Microneedling?

Medspa microneedling is an excellent choice if your skin is generally healthy and you’re looking to get rid of fine lines, large pores, acne scars, or stretch marks, or even out your skin tone. It can also be helpful for specific medical issues, such as hair thinning from alopecia or excessive sweating. But it’s not for everyone. If you’re dealing with active breakouts, cold sores, keloid scarring, or if you’re on blood thinners, it’s best to check in with a provider first. The same goes if you have skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or frequent rashes.

Microneedling Recovery and Aftercare

Results don’t show up right away. Most people need a few sessions spaced out every 3 to 8 weeks to really see a difference. If you’re treating deeper scars or texture issues, it can take 3 to 6 months before you notice the full results. Once your skin starts to improve, you may only need a touch-up once a year to keep it looking good. After each session, use simple skincare, nothing too harsh, and don’t forget sunscreen (SPF30+). That helps your skin heal properly.

Microneedling vs Other Skin Rejuvenation Treatments

Microneedling for the face is one way to make your skin look fresh, but it’s not the only option available. Treatments such as chemical peels, hydrafacials, and others are also used to smooth skin, treat scars, and soften lines. Each one works a little differently.

Microneedling vs Chemical Peel

Facial Microneedling uses tiny needles to trigger collagen production, while chemical peels use acids to shed the top layer of skin. Microneedling treatment is better for things like acne scars, fine lines, and deeper texture issues. Peels are great for brightening dull skin, fading spots, or smoothing rough patches. Microneedling usually results in less visible peeling and shorter downtime. Chemical peels can cause more flaking and redness while you recover. Both take a few sessions to see real results, but microneedling is usually a safer bet for all skin tones.

Microneedling vs RF Microneedling

Microneedling and RF microneedling both use tiny needles to trigger your skin’s healing process, but RF adds heat from radiofrequency energy to go deeper. Regular microneedling is excellent for smoothing texture, fading scars, and reducing fine lines. RF microneedling does all of that too, but the heat helps tighten loose skin and target deeper wrinkles. Recovery time is about the same, though RF might leave you red a bit longer. It also costs more, but the results are more noticeable and last longer.

Microneedling vs Microdermabrasion

Microneedling uses tiny needles to create minor injuries beneath your skin, which help boost collagen and improve texture. Meanwhile, microdermabrasion works on the top layer – like a deep exfoliation using a gritty tool. If you’re dealing with things like acne scars, fine lines, or rough skin, cosmetic microneedling usually works better. Microdermabrasion is gentler. Healing time is shorter with microdermabrasion, but microneedling usually provides better results.

Microneedling vs Hydrafacial

Hydrafacial doesn’t use needles – it cleans out pores, exfoliates dead skin, and provides hydration using suction and serums. Microneedling therapy is better for deeper skin concerns and longer-lasting results, but it needs some recovery time. Hydrafacial is gentle, has minimal downtime, and gives you an instant glow. If you’re looking for bigger changes, microneedling is your choice. If you just want your skin to look fresh fast, Hydrafacial is better.

What are the Microneedling Side Effects

Redness and swelling. Your face may feel warm or look a bit sunburned for a day or two. Dryness or flaking. Some peeling is normal as your skin recovers. Bruising. It can appear in more delicate areas, such as under the eyes. Minor bleeding. Usually, it only happens with deeper treatments. Scarring. Rare, but possible if you don’t follow aftercare or pick at your skin. Infection. A minimal risk if the skin isn’t kept clean after the procedure.
