What is a VI Peel?

A VI Peel is a professional chemical peel that works below the skin’s surface to help it look fresh and new. It’s made with a mix of ingredients like TCA, salicylic acid, phenol, retinoic acid, and vitamin C – each chosen to help improve the skin from the inside.

It’s considered a medium-depth peel, used on areas like the face, neck, chest, or hands. The treatment is performed in clinics by trained professionals and usually doesn’t require a long recovery. It’s safe for lots of skin types and tones.

What are the VI Peel Benefits

Almost No Downtime. You can get back to your day right after your peel - no need to change your schedule.
It helps with Different Skin Concerns. It can help with many issues, such as acne, dark spots, fine lines, and uneven tone.
Suitable for All Skin Tones. It’s made to be safe for every skin tone, including darker complexions that don’t always respond well to other peels.
Gentle and Tolerable. No burning or significant discomfort. The most common feeling is a light tingle that goes away quickly for most people.
Fast and Convenient. The whole appointment takes about 30 minutes, so it’s easy to get it, even on a busy day.

How Does VI Peel Work?

The VI Peel works by gently removing the outer layer of old, damaged skin, helping your body start producing new, healthy skin. It’s a medium-depth chemical peel, which means it goes a bit deeper than an elemental facial but doesn’t require serious downtime. The peel includes a blend of ingredients, including TCA, Retinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, and Vitamin C.

TCA and Phenol help exfoliate the top layer of skin, triggering the peeling process. Retinoic Acid helps your skin make new cells faster. Salicylic Acid clears out clogged pores, and Vitamin C helps brighten and support the recovery. All of this works together to smooth your skin, even out your tone, and make you look healthier.

Most people feel just a slight tingling or warmth – nothing too uncomfortable or painful. A few days later, the exfoliation process begins. That’s your skin doing precisely what it’s supposed to: shedding the dull layer and bringing out the fresh one underneath. Over time, this helps soften dark spots, fine lines, and acne marks.

What to Expect During a VI Peel Procedure

Getting a VI Peel treatment at our med spa is quick and easy - it usually takes around 30 minutes. First, your provider will gently clean your face to remove any oil, dirt, or makeup. After that, they’ll apply the peel solution with soft gauze, layer by layer, making sure it evenly covers the target areas.

You might feel a slight tingling, warmth, or tightening as it goes on, but it’s mild and only lasts for a moment. Some people say their skin feels a bit numb or tight, which is entirely normal. Once it’s fully applied, you don’t wash it off right away. Instead, leave it on for 4 to 6 hours and rinse it off at home later, following the instructions provided.

You can get back to your day right after. Most people start to peel a few days later - that’s when your fresh skin starts to come through. You’ll also get a simple aftercare kit to help your skin recover properly.

VI Peel Aftercare Tips

  • Allow your skin to peel naturally. Avoid picking or pulling at the shedding skin, as this can cause irritation or scarring.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure. Your skin is extra sensitive right now, so try to avoid direct sunlight. If you have to be outside, wear SPF 30 or higher – even on cloudy days.
  • Follow the post-peel instructions provided by your specialist, including the use of prescribed products. Those post-peel towelettes and creams are there for a reason. They help your skin recover correctly, so don’t skip them.
  • Hold off on workouts for a few days. Sweating too soon can make your skin more irritated. It’s a good excuse to take a little break.
  • Be gentle with your skincare. Wash with a mild cleanser, use a simple moisturizer, and skip anything with strong acids, scrubs, or retinol until your skin is fully healed.
  • Drink lots of water. Staying hydrated helps your skin recover faster and keeps it from feeling extra dry while it’s peeling.
  • Skip makeup for a bit. Try to avoid wearing makeup for at least a day or two. It’s best to allow your skin to heal naturally during this process.
